Dr. Michael Debabrata Patra is an economist and career central banker who served as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 2020 to 2025. He was responsible for monetary policy, financial markets, financial stability, research and international relations, and was a founding member of the RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Governors of IEG.
